European officials are unable to purchase$ 1, 472 hotel rooms in Davos.

The World Economic Forum ( WEF )’s prestigious annual gathering in Davos is not attended by the Swiss government due to a lack of funding. According to reports from European media, they are asking high-ranking dignitaries to promote hotel accommodations as a result.
Politicians, businessmen, and other well-known figures can attend the annual conference of the World Economic Forum in Davos, a charming city in the Alps.
This gathering offers a forum for like-minded, predominately liberal, important people to connect, discuss ideas, and intentional on various contentious initiatives like phase out fossil fuels, fostering diversity and equity, as well as getting ready for potential pandemics.
Prices for accommodation in Davos are skyrocketing due to the influx of wealthy people, and the Swiss government is also struggling financially, according to a formal assessment mentioned.
The Swiss federal government received 25 hotel rooms from the World Economic Forum ( WEF ) last year. 20 of these were situated in the heavily guarded security zone and cost 1, 269.90 francs ($ 1, 472 ) per night. The remaining five rooms cost the Swiss taxpayers 599.90 francs ($ 705 ) each because they were located outside the security zone.
The costs were determined through in-depth discussions between the WEF and local hotels based on the audit findings and were regarded as useful rates.
According to federal expense regulations, Swiss government officials are only allowed to spend 180 francs ($ 211 ) per night; in exceptional circumstances, the amount is slightly higher ($ 293 ).
Given that the cost of lodging is almost ten times higher than the state “assuage,” according to Economy Minister Guy Parmelin, the Swedish government is cutting costs as much as it can this time. The committee for this year’s website will be kept as small as possible, according to Parmelin, and some of the attendees will stay in Chur, a town 50 kilometers from the WEF Davos webpage.
According to the secretary, the government has been able to secure hotel rooms in Chur at a reasonable level of 190 euros per day. Members may occasionally still need to discuss rooms, Parmelin continued, including those at higher levels of the hierarchy.
The Swiss Defense Ministry announced last week that about 5,000 European soldiers would be present at the WEF function across the country. Many of these servicemen will be housed outside of the town and wo n’t have to follow the same spending restrictions as the government delegation. The troops who were on duty at the previous mountain had an even better agreement, staying right there. European officials are unable to afford the$ 1, 472 Davos resort rooms.
