UN Tourism SG Recognizes the Value of Increasing Caribbean Employment

At the recently concluded 2nd Global Tourism Resilience Day Conference held at the Montego Bay Convention Center, Mr. Pololikashvili delivered the headline address.
He emphasized the significance of strengthening Caribbean tourism’s resilience by saying,” We need presence, we need to support people whose only sources of income are tourism, agriculture, and fishing.” Because of this, he declared, with the backing of the officials in attendance,” I promise all People and all Caribbeans that we’ll be around talking about how to grow the tourist sector and create new work.”
The Secretary-General emphasized that employment and education were essential and that UN Tourism do place a greater emphasis on job creation and assets. We need more cash around, more foreign direct investments in the area, he continued. While saying more may follow, he issued a warning:
It takes time and is not simple.
Under the heading” Navigating the Future of Tourism Resilience,” the conference was jointly organized by the Ministry of Travel, UN Tourism ( previously the United Nations World Tourism Organization ( UNWTO ), and the Global Tourism Ressiliency and Crisis Management Centre ( GTRCMC).

Speaking at the occasion, which took place from February 16 to 17, Jamaica Tourism Minister Hon. As we work to educate the next generation about this wonderful economic activity known as hospitality, Edmund Bartlett said, “understanding the effects and the position that tourism is going to perform in how the earth changes and evolves into the future is important for us.”
Mr. Bartlett emphasized the sector’s significance and claimed that it was now thought of as one of the quickest ways to move money, possibly from the wealthy to the less fortunate.
He continued,” It can be but it is not, it adds price every step of the way and it encourages creativity and innovation. Tourism, in that place, has now become the primary drivers of this process of building cash across the world, and the value of commerce is that it never actually extracted.”
Additionally, according to Minister Bartlett,” tourism responded to people’s demands in a systematic approach so that anyone and almost everyone can benefit from hospitality activity.”
