Tourism EXPO Japan Ministerial Round Table: Over 10 country tourism ministers to gather

In collaboration with UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Tourism EXPO Japan (TEJ) 2018 will launch a Ministerial Round Table on the first day of the EXPO, inviting Ministers of Tourism from all over the world.

Executives from international tourism organizations, such as the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), Pacific Asia Tourism Association (PATA), and governors of prefectures in Japan will be participating in the panel discussions which will be held under the theme of “Managing Sustainable Tourism for Community Development.”

Ms. Anita Mendiratta, Special Advisor to the Secretary-General of UNWTO, will be the moderator for the event.

Tourism EXPO Japan has grown through the years to become the world’s leading trade event as the focus on tourism and travel has brought to light the effects which tourism growth can have on regional economies, job creation, environment and social wellbeing. Government agencies and the private sector are working together to further the leading role of Japan in global tourism by implementing strategies and measure that stimulate demand for overseas, domestic and inbound travel.

A comprehensive travel trade event, Tourism EXPO Japan gathers key players from both the travel and tourism industry and travel-related business fields. Tourism EXPO Japan offers a fusion of opportunities, ranging from business meetings, insight sharing, discussions, media coverage and direct business-to-business and business-to-customer promotion of overseas, domestic and inbound tour products, facilities and destinations.

The TEJ Ministerial RoundTable will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018, from 1430 to 1630 hours at the Tokyo Conference Center Ariake on the 4th floor in Hall B2.

The Tourism EXPO Japan event will be held from September 20-23, 2018 in Tokyo, Japan, at Tokyo Big Sight. September 20 and 21 are reserved for business discussions and industry professionals, and September 22 and 23 is open to the general public. The event is being organized by the Japan Travel and Tourism Association (JTTA), the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), and the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO).
