Officials from Switzerland are unable to afford$ 1,472 hotel rooms in Davos.

The World Economic Forum ( WEF ) organizes a prestigious annual gathering in Davos, but the Swiss government lacks the funds to send its own representatives there. As a result, according to reports from European media, they are asking high-ranking dignitaries to promote hotel accommodations.
Politicians, business executives, and other well-known figures can attend the annual conference of the World Economic Forum in Davos, a picturesque village in the Alps.
Similar-minded, predominately liberal, prominent people can connect, exchange ideas, and discuss a variety of contentious issues like the phase-out of fossil fuels, the promotion of diversity and equity, as well as planning for potential pandemics on this gathering.
According to an official assessment, Davos ‘ housing prices are skyrocketing due to the influx of wealthy people, and the Swiss government is also struggling financially.
The Swiss federal government received 25 hotel rooms from the World Economic Forum ( WEF ) last year. 20 of these were situated in the heavily guarded security zone and cost 1, 269.90 francs ($ 1, 472 ) per night. The remaining five rooms, which were located outside the security zone, cost the Swiss taxpayers 599.90 francs ($ 705 ) each.
The costs were determined through in-depth discussions between the WEF and local hotels based on the audit findings and were regarded as useful rates.
According to federal expense regulations, Swiss government officials are allowed to spend a maximum of 180 francs ($ 211 ) per night; in justified exceptional circumstances, the limit is slightly higher of 250.
Given that the cost of lodging is almost ten times higher than the state “assuage,” according to Economy Minister Guy Parmelin, the Swedish government is cutting costs as much as it can this time. The committee for this year’s website will be kept as small as possible, according to Parmelin, and some of the attendees will stay in Chur, a city 50 kilometers from the WEF Davos webpage.
According to the secretary, the government has been able to secure hotel accommodations in Chur at a comparatively low level of 190 francs per day. Members may occasionally still need to discuss areas, Parmelin continued, including those at higher levels of the hierarchy.
Around 5,000 European soldiers will attend the WEF occasion across the country, the Swiss Defense Ministry announced next month. Many of these service members may be housed elsewhere and exempt from the same saving restrictions as the authorities delegation. Even better arrangements were made for the men who were on work during the preceding mountain, who stayed right at the beach.
