Milton Segarra, the CEO of Meet Puerto Rico Tourism calls it a bittersweet statement and said: “I am reaching out to you, my good colleagues and friends in the media, to let you know that I will be leaving my position as President & CEO of Meet Puerto Rico on Friday, December 15. I have accepted a position as CEO of Visit Mississippi Gulf Coast.”:

“I want to tell you how much I have respected our good working relationship during my tenure as President and CEO of Meet Puerto Rico and I look forward to continuing the same in my new position.”

“I have enjoyed my tenure at Meet Puerto Rico and am proud of all the work my team and I have accomplished here on behalf of my beautiful home. Leaving is bittersweet. However, I know I leave the meetings industry in good hands here with the future leadership of the DMO set to start in July 2018

The commitment, determination, and optimism I have experienced here has been one I will always cherish.

Even though I will miss my colleagues, clients, and the company, I am looking forward to starting a new phase of my career.

Before I leave from this organization on Friday, I would like to acknowledge you with my deep thanks for your kindnesses and support to me during the years I have worked with you.”

Her leave may be a casualty of the recent downturn in Puerto Rico Tourism and MICE after the island suffered extensive damage due to a Hurricane.
