A three International tourism fair ‘Dhaka Travel Mart 2018’ which began on March 24 at the Ball Room of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel concludes today.

A.K.M. Shajahan Kamal, Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism formally inaugurated the fair. Speaking on the inaugural program, Minister Kamal appreciated support Bangladesh received post US Bangla crash. He said it is now in part of Bangladesh to support Nepal. Minister Kamal was stressing on mutual tourism promotion as for many Bangladeshi, Nepal is favorite destination.

The Bangladesh Monitor, a travel and tourism publication of the country is organizing the fair for the fifteenth time. US- Bangla Airlines, a private sector airline of the country is the Title Sponsor while the Bangladesh Tourism Board and national carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines are supporting the event as the Partners.

Forty-eight organizations from different countries including Nepal and host Bangladesh were participating in 5 pavilions and 60 booths at Dhaka Travel Mart 2018. National Tourism Organisations, Airlines, Tour Operators, Hotels, Resorts, Online Booking Portals, Healthcare Service Providers were the major participants.

Bangladeshis were keen on knowing about different tourism destinations. Specifically, activities and products of Nepal were on their hot list of questions.

This mart right after the tragic US- Bangla Airlines crash at Kathmandu airport had importance on its own. People visiting the Nepal stand were coming with deep love and respect. They in a way were sympathizing us and themselves; the mart thus was successful in reassuring Bangladeshi people about hospitality at par that Nepalese offer.

Nepal Tourism Board participated with 7 travel tour companies-Kuti Resort, B-Line Tours &Travels, Hotel  Annapurna, All Seasons Adventure, Regulus Treks & Expedition, Sealinks Travels & Tours Pvt.Ltd. and Saraogi Travels. Nepal Tourism Board was represented by Mr. Mani Raj Lamichhane, Senior Manager and Mr. Sudhan Subedi, Senior Officer.
