“It is an honor for me to visit Israel to participate in this very important tourism event. It will give us an opportunity to reach new markets and learn best practices from thought leaders across the world. I am especially excited to join my fellow tourism leaders to participate in a special panel discussion,” said Minister Bartlett.
The Minister will then head to Malta on February 14, to attend the 6th Mediterranean Tourism Forum.
The Forum, which begins on the 15th, is an annual event for global tourism stakeholders to discuss avenues for promoting tourism, as a vehicle for peace and stability across the region.
“Malta is a very special destination with many similarities to Jamaica. During my last visit, I met with the President of Malta, Her Excellency Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca who is now the HonoHeads to Israel and Malta for Tourism Forumsurary Chairperson of the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre, to discuss sustainable tourism. I am very excited to learn more about this destination and to explore ways to strengthen our relations,” said the Minister.
The 6th Mediterranean Tourism Forum is an event which targets representatives of governments, top executives, leaders of international organizations and relevant non-governmental organizations, and thought leaders.
The Minister, who is expected to return to the island on February 18, will also seize the opportunity at these important forums to host business meetings with tour operators and other industry partners.
