The long-pending demand of the convention and tourism industry in India has been met now, with the introduction of a Conference Visa for foreign nationals coming to India to attend international conferences, seminars, and workshops.

This will help boost the arrival of delegates for meetings, says Chander Mansharmani, Vice Chairman of the India Convention Promotion Bureau, who has been working to get the new category visa done.

There are a few countries for whom this visa will not be valid.

The Ministry of Home Affairs will be launching an online module for submission of applications by the organizers of international conferences, seminars, and workshops to seeking clearance for holding the event and for processing applications and issuing clearance online.
