Mr. Al- Khateeb was present at the ITB Berlin starting ceremony, which draws thousands of travel and tourism companies from all over the globe. The minister also met with UN World Tourism Organization ( UNWTO ) and World Travel and Tourism Council ( WTTC ) leaders, as well as with representatives from large international corporations, and inaugurated the Saudi pavilion at the fair.
At the show, guests were introduced to the enormous possibility that the Kingdom has in terms of geographical and economic diversity, historic sites, and contemporary tourist attractions, as well as the Ministry of Tourism and a prominent Saudi committee from the tourism sector.
More than 45 organizations, including tour operators, resorts, tourism and travel organizations, and carriers, represented the Saudi Tourism Authority’s most important companions from the public and private sectors.
The Saudi palace highlighted the accomplishments made by the Kingdom in the field of hospitality, most notably the introduction of more than 100 million visitors in 2023, leading the G20 part says in terms of the number of tourists from abroad, and topping the United Nations tourism record of the main nations in terms of growth in the number of tourists.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site is showcased in the Jeddah Historical Program.
The Jeddah Historical Program’s participation in ITB Berlin is intended to highlight efforts being made to reinvigorate the area’s ancient Jeddah, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The 34 heritage hotels built in the ancient Jeddah area, which “unique and genuine experiences” that easily blend tradition, history, and current amenities, according to the program, will be the focus of the exhibition.
As part of its efforts to build a strong presence in key international travel and tourism events, promote the area’s historical significance, and draw attention to Saudi Arabia’s social traditions, Jeddah Historical Program is participating in ITB Berlin.
The system hopes to “position Jeddah as a leading place on the social tourism map” by presenting its remarkable experiences and drawing in visitors from all over the world.
