ITB Berlin Promotes Eco-Friendly Travel

The case for a more green industry is strengthened by the Responsible Tourism section, the ITB Berlin Convention, and trendsetting honours.
The World’s Leading Travel Trade Show, ITB Berlin, actively promotes environmental duty and social justice in travel. ITB Berlin offers a complete system and source of inspiration for fostering dialogue between stakeholders in the tourism value chain on enhancing broader and more diverse industries from March 5 to March7.
An international platform for ecological tourism has been established by the Responsible Tourism section in Hall 4.1. The international Adventure Travel Trade Association ( ATTA ), Forum Anders Reisen, and Studienkreis für Tourismus und Entwicklung, as well as co-exhibitors like Futouris and Fernweh fair Travel, are also participating, in addition to exhibitors like Atmosfair and My Climate. A new component of the event is the ITB Sustainability Lounge, powered by Mascontour, where the group can gather to discuss fresh conservation developments, ideas, and solutions.
Trend-setting activities at the ITB Berlin Convention as well as the International Lighthouse Step
Guests to the ITB Lighthouse Stage in Hall 4.1 will be treated to a wide variety of situations that will serve as inspiration for an industry that is more lasting. The 19th Green Business Forum for Tourism Specialists will take place on March 5 at 2 p.m. at ITB. Exhibitors in Hall 4.1 may discuss sustainable tourism standards with eminent international experts from all aspects of the tourism industry.
Science and technology skills, as well as suggestions from NGOs and policymakers on how to advance social justice and environmentally conscious tourism, are all included in the ITB Berlin Convention 2024. The Diversity &amp, Inclusion Track will talk about how to make the travel industry more diverse and inclusive on Tuesday, March 5 on the Green Stage ( Hall 3.1 ). High-profile speakers from industry titans like Hyatt, Microsoft, and Forbes Travel Guide, as well as NGOs like Brotfür die Welt, may discuss difficulties and success stories at several sessions.
Leading experts will discuss cutting-edge practices and strategies for assisting destinations in preparing for social, ecological, and difficult geopolitical situations on March 6 at the Destination Track on the Blue Stage ( Hall 7.1 ).
Experts will talk about how the industry can help the world with climate action, increased sustainability, and social equality on Thursday, March 7 at the Responsible Tourism Track’s Orange Stage ( Hall 7.1a ). Participating is the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. Aurélie Sandler ( co-CEO, Evaneos ), Dr. Bruno Oberle ( president, World Resources Forum Association and former director general of the International Union for Conservation of Nature ( IUCN), and Graeme Jackson ( head of Strategic Partnerships, The Travel Foundation ) are among the speakers. Amanda Ho is the co-founder and CEO of Regenerative Travel.
ITB Berlin 2024 TO DO and Green Destinations Awards Presentation
The coveted TO DO Award will be given to initiatives promoting sustainable and responsible tourism on Wednesday, March 6, at 6 p.m. on the eTravel Stage ( Hall 6.1 ). Studienkreis für Tourismus und Entwicklung will do this. The TO DO Human Rights in Tourism Award, which recognizes programs that support animal rights throughout the entire tourism value network, may also host the presentation for the third day.
The Green Destination Group has been presenting the most motivational tales for the advancement of green commerce with the natural Sites Story Awards since 2014 at ITB Berlin. The tenth edition of the Green Destinations Top 100 Stories will feature the most motivational projects submitted in six categories on Wednesday, March 6, at 6 p.m. on the Blue Stage ( Hall 7.1b ). In each group, three winners will be selected. The ITB Earth Award, which recognizes the action of a place that has set the bar high for ecological tourism and climate action, will also be given out at the event. With the most visitors votes, the place is honored with the Women’s Choice Award.
ITB activities will take place on the Hybrid Stage in Hall 5 on Wednesday and Thursday in support of social justice.
The Social Entrepreneurship in Tourism competition, co-founded by ITB Berlin, will focus on socially responsible businesses driving positive trends in tourism on Wednesday, March 6 on the Hybrid Stage ( Hall 5.3 ).
The presentation of the Celebrating Her Award, which is happening for the sixth day, will take place on the Cross Level in the day after this. The International Institute for Peace in Tourism ( IIPT ) and ITB Berlin collaborated to create the award, which recognizes women for their outstanding contributions to the tourism industry. The Gender Equality Champion of the Year did then recognize hospitality companies for their excellent efforts to advance gender equality. The non-profit business Equally in Tourism, in collaboration with ITB Berlin and the Green Hospitality Alliance, bestows the honor.
The software includes additional gender equality events on March 7, which is International Women’s Day the following day. Experts will discuss a variety of subjects at the ITB Berlin Convention, including how to improve children’s job prospects in the hospitality sector. The session may be titled” Gender Equality: How Can We Shape A Gender-Equal Work Surroundings.”
